NHL Enterprises, Broadcasting And Communications Restructured

NHL COO John Collins yesterday sent out a six-page memo to league staff detailing the restructuring of NHL Enterprises, Broadcasting and Communications into 10 new business divisions. The areas of focus include: sales; integrated marketing; digital media; events; NHL Network U.S. and affiliate distribution; broadcasting business relations and scheduling; production, operations and engineering; creative studios; communications and editorial; international development and strategic planning. Senior VP Keith Wachtel will continue to head sales. Exec VP Brian Jennings will head integrated marketing, which will work with TV rightsholders, licensees and sponsors. He also will oversee club consulting. Senior VP Perry Cooper will run digital media, including NHL.com, NHL Shop, Center Ice and more. Senior VP Don Renzulli will run events, including the NHL Awards and Winter Classic. Senior VP Jody Shapiro will run NHL Network U.S. Senior VP Steve Hatze Petros will run broadcasting business relations and scheduling. Exec VP Scott Davis, formerly of Ascent Media Group, will oversee production, operations and engineering, a new division that consolidates broadcast and digital operations. Senior VP Andre Mika will oversee the league's creative and fan experiential strategies, making him responsible for the creative strategy of NHL Network, In-Arena, NHL.com, Mobile, Live TV and Entertainment. Mika will continue to oversee NHL.com production. Consultant Mike Berland will oversee communications and editorial on an interim basis. Senior VP Ken Yaffe will lead the league's international business ventures. VP Steve McArdle will provide strategic planning and analytical support of all business ventures.
