Heading East: Big Ten Net Being Carried On Cablevision Sports Tier
Published June 23, 2009
Big Ten Network has inked a carriage deal with Cablevision that will see the net become part of the N.Y. area cable operator's "iO Sports Pak" tier, effective today. The channel will be offered via both standard definition (channel 413) and high definition (channel 720). With most of its in-market deals completed, BTN has been trying to sign sports-tier deals with cable operators outside of the conference's market. "There are thousands and thousands of Big Ten fans and alumni within Cablevision's footprint, particularly in the New York metropolitan area, that will now receive unparalleled coverage of Big Ten sports," BTN President Mark Silverman said.
