Overnight Ratings Down 14.4% For Game One

The Lakers’ rout draws an 8.9 overnight Nielsen rating on ABC, down 14.4% from last year. If Orlando rebounds Sunday, the numbers should improve, but another lopsided game could thwart the positive ratings momentum the postseason has seen thus far. Meanwhile, David Stern holds his annual Finals press conference, reserving his strongest remarks for the recent criticism from U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen about the league’s age limit.
