ShoreTel Wins Contract To Install Phone System At AT&T Park
Published June 3, 2009
In a "rare defeat" for Cisco Systems, California-based ShoreTel Inc. won the bid to install a $1M Internet phone system at AT&T Park, according to Andrew Ross of the S.F. CHRONICLE. The system, rolled out last month, was "another notch in the 11-year-old company's belt," as ShoreTel has "installed similar systems" for Verizon Center, HSBC Arena and Infineon Raceway, among others. ShoreTel CFO Mike Healy said his company "can't overtake Cisco, but we're aiming to be No. 2." Giants Senior VP & Chief Information Officer Bill Schlough said a key selling point in choosing ShoreTel was the team "won't be a small fish in a big pond" with the company. Schlough added that another selling point was ShoreTel's "switch-based architecture" (S.F. CHRONICLE, 6/3).
