    BankAtlantic Center Part
    Of Possible SPAC Deal

In a deal that has been anticipated for some time, Sports Properties Acquisition Corp. (SPAC) has agreed to purchase the NHL Panthers, BankAtlantic Center, the team's arena management company and land surrounding the arena for $240M, according to a source close to the talks. The deal would mark the first major acquisition for SPAC, which includes Medallion Financial Corp. President Andrew Murstein, former Nationals President Tony Tavares, Hank Aaron and Mario Cuomo. The MIAMI HERALD reports Murstein could emerge as the "control person" for the Panthers under the deal, though he reportedly has "not informed the Panthers if he plans to run the team if the sale is completed." Sources added SPAC "might keep" Panthers President & COO Michael Yormark; reports indicate current team Owner Alan Cohen has been offered a position with the group.
