COME SEE TENNESSEE: In Memphis, Craig Wack reports the Memphis Convention & Visitors Bureau will title sponsor the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Memphis Motorsports Park on June 27. The MemphisTravel.com 200 presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts is an "extension of a longtime partnership between the track and the bureau." O'Reilly had been the title sponsor of the race since '02, but "reduced its race sponsorships across the board after signing on as the official auto parts store of NASCAR" (Memphis COMMERCIAL APPEAL, 5/31).
NOT "G" RATED: In Chicago, Dave van Dyck reports the Gatorade dispenser in the Cubs' dugout will be replaced by an "old water dispenser" after the Gatorade machine "had been battered and broken," most recently during a tirade by P Carlos Zambrano last week. The sides of the machine "already were cracked, just waiting to fly off with another attack." Cubs P Ryan Dempster, who also damaged the Gatorade machine earlier this season, said, "It would have been more entertaining (to keep it), that's for sure" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 6/1).
