A Real Throwback: MLB Net To Air Docu On Origins Of Baseball
Published May 15, 2009
MLB Network on Sunday will air the TV premiere of "Base Ball Discovered," a documentary produced last year by MLB.com that explores the origins of the sport in mid-18th century Surrey, England, predating many other known references to baseball's beginnings. The effort initially was shown last year at the annual convention of the Society of American Baseball Research (SABR), but the network presentation marks its first commercial TV airing. Subsequent repeats are planned throughout the latter part of May. MLB.com will simulcast the documentary online May 19 at 1:00pm ET.
