M&M's To Feature NBA Team Logos As Part Of Licensing Agreement

| NBA-Logoed M&M's Now Available Online, At NBA Store |
Mars is adding the NBA to the sports licenses it has collected for its venerable M&M's candy brand. NBA team-logoed M&M’s are now available online at mymms.com/nba, and at the NBA Store in N.Y. Mars is already offering MLB- and NFL-logoed M&M's. NBA fans can buy team-logoed candies for a three-bag minimum (7-ounces each) of $38.97, or $140 for each five-pound bag. By way of comparison, Amazon.com sells non-logoed M&M’s for $15.09 per 56-ounce bag. The Mars deal is the NBA’s first confection deal since Nestle dropped the league as a sponsor several years ago after a run of more than 10 years. Under that hybrid sponsorship/licensing deal, Nestle produced Crunch bars with NBA logos. However, the new Mars deal is strictly a licensing arrangement and does not include sponsorship rights. Mars' other sports deals include NFL rights for its Snickers brand.
