Time For A Re-Phil: Mickelson Re-Ups With Callaway For Five Years
Published April 8, 2009
Golfer Phil Mickelson has signed a five-year extension with Callaway. Mickelson first signed with Callaway in '04 to play its equipment and wear the Callaway brand in secondary locations like the side of his hat, shirt sleeve and bag. At times, Callaway has appeared on the front of Mickelson’s hat and shirt as his agent, Steve Loy, sought to replace expired deals. Mickelson also endorses KPMG (hat front) and Barclays (chest). He also has deals with ExxonMobil and Rolex.
HAVING A BALL: Meanwhile, Nike today will launch a new spot on Golf Channel touting its Nike One golf ball. The ad, via Wieden + Kennedy, features endorsers like Anthony Kim, Stewart Cink, K.J. Choi, Trevor Immelman and Paul Casey, all of whom are playing in The Masters this week. It culminates with a clip of Tiger Woods sinking a putt on the 72nd hole two weeks ago to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
