PGA Tour Exec Steve Evans To Discuss How
CDW Has Helped Tour In New Campaign
CDW may have endorsements with golfers Sean O’Hair and Paula Creamer, but it will use an employee of the PGA Tour in a new series of golf-themed ads that will run on Golf Channel and CBS. PGA Tour Chief Technology Officer Steve Evans appears in a series of three 30-second ads that discuss ways in which CDW helped the PGA Tour in the first year of their partnership, including updating the scoring trailers, configuring player laptops and digitizing video footage and files. The spots were filmed at Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando. Evans also appears in a series of interviews hosted at www.CDW.com/pgatour. The campaign, via JWT CET, is tagged “Look at Technology Differently.” The involvement of a PGA Tour staffer in the ad campaign was discussed during the tour’s sponsorship pitch with the Illinois-based company, which is signed through 2012.
