Scarborough Research Examines IndyCar Series Fan Demographics
Published April 2, 2009
With the '09 IndyCar Series set to begin this weekend with the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, the chart below presents select Scarborough Research demographics for fans of the open-wheel racing series, measured from August '07 through September '08. A fan of IndyCar is described as one who over the past 12 months has attended a race, listened to one on the radio or watched one on TV. For example, 23% of IndyCar fans are between the ages of 45-54, and IndyCar fans are 17% more likely than the national average to be in that particular age range (Scarborough Research).
