Moriarty Leaves Ticketmaster

Ticketmaster President & CEO SEAN MORIARTY has left the company, effective March 24. Moriarty also resigned from the Ticketmaster Entertainment BOD as of that date (Ticketmaster). The WALL STREET JOURNAL's Ethan Smith cites sources as saying that "contributing to Mr. Moriarty's departure was uncertainty over his future under a proposed merger of Ticketmaster with concert promoter Live Nation." If the merger is approved by regulators, Live Nation President & CEO MICHAEL RAPINO "would become CEO of the new company," while Ticketmaster Entertainment CEO IRVING AZOFF "would be named" Exec Chair. Sources said that Moriarty "felt that his role in the proposed management structure was unclear" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 3/31).

EXECS: Stats LLC has named Fox Sports Chair & CEO DAVID HILL to its BOD. Fox Sports parent News Corp. is a co-Owner of the sports data operation along with the AP. Hill will sit on the BOD with Fox Sports Enterprises Exec VP GARY EHRLICH and the AP's TOM CURLEY and KEN DALE (Eric Fisher, SportsBusiness Journal)....Rogers Communications yesterday officially named President & COO NADIR MOHAMED CEO. Mohamed will be formally introduced to shareholders next month, which will mark the "first time the company has held an annual meeting with a CEO other than" late President & CEO TED ROGERS (GLOBE & MAIL, 3/31)....Former Bill Davis Racing GM MIKE BROWN was named GM of NASCAR program The Racers Group (FOXSPORTS.com, 3/30)….Apparent Gravity Media (AGM) appointed ANDY SCOTT to the newly created position of Bureau Chief for Asia/Australasia, reporting to President GEORGE KRIEGER. Scott will be based in Honolulu, Hawaii, and will be responsible for sales, marketing and licensing of all the company’s events and series programming (AGM)….Strategic named DAN PINCUS Group Account Dir and promoted BOBBY ISOM to Senior Account Exec. Most recently, Pincus was at the Iconix Brand Group as Marketing Dir for the Starter, Joe Boxer, London Fog and Ocean Pacific brands (Strategic).
