Rams Co-Owner Discusses '08 Season, Front-Office Restructuring
Published March 31, 2009
Rams co-Owner Chip Rosenbloom said the front-office restructuring the team has gone through since he took over the franchise 14 months ago "wasn't something that I really anticipated," according to Jim Thomas of the ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH. Rosenbloom said the '08 season was a "surprisingly difficult year because we really felt that it was going to be smoother." Rosenbloom: "As I learned more about the organization, I saw the places where it needed to have a refreshment." Thomas noted there "seems to be a pretty good buzz among the fans about the offseason moves," and Rosenbloom said, "We've demonstrated to ourselves, and our fans, that we're putting our best foot forward to show how much we care about winning, how much we care about the team and the fans. I don't know how else to demonstrate it. I don't know how else to show it but doing what we've been doing." When asked about the possibility of selling the team, Rosenbloom said, "We are not presently or in the foreseeable future actively engaged in looking to sell the team" (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 3/29).
BLAST FROM THE PAST: The POST-DISPATCH's Thomas noted Rosenbloom and Rams co-Owner Lucia Rodriguez "confirmed that the Rams will wear throwback uniforms in three games during the 2009 season." The "exact three throwback games haven't been determined," but Rosenbloom and Rodriguez said that "one of them probably will be the Rams' home opener at the Edward Jones Dome." Another "probably will be a road game" against the Titans in which the Titans "will wear their throwbacks from their old Houston Oiler days" (STLTODAY.com, 3/25).
