In this week's SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, Terry Lefton reports Florida State Univ. has hired former WMG Senior VP/Motorsports PAUL PHIPPS as a Special Assistant to the athletic department, involved in "all revenue generation for athletics, including ticketing, media, sponsorships and digital sales." Meanwhile, former NLL Commissioner JIM JENNINGS has formed Waterbucket Media, a New Jersey-based agency specializing in sponsorship, events and PR. Meanwhile, former OgilvyAction Exec VP/Sports & Entertainment JEANNIE GOLDSTEIN has opened her own sponsorship consultancy called Pulse Sports & Entertainment (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 3/30 issue).

EXECS: The Bobcats have hired former Bills Senior VP/Business Ventures PETE GUELLI as Exec VP and Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, effective April 20 (John Lombardo, SportsBusiness Journal)....The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) voted former Nordiques co-Owner & President MARCEL AUBUT as President-Elect. Aubut will take over the position from incumbent President MICHAEL CHAMBERS at the COC's annual meeting after the '10 Vancouver Olympics (CP, 3/28)....USA Swimming named ANDREW SILVER Dir of Interactive Properties, through which he will serve as Senior Editor of Swimnetwork.com.
