Published March 12, 2009
MLS yesterday announced that the expansion Sounders FC will host the ’09 MLS Cup at Qwest Field, making it the eighth venue to host the league's championship match. Qwest Field's capacity for regular-season MLS matches is listed at 24,500, though the venue's seating configuration will be adjusted to accommodate 32,400 fans for the March 19 Red Bulls-Sounders home opener. The venue also has 67,000 fixed seats and can be expanded to accommodate 72,000. The chart below lists attendance for all MLS Cups in the league's history (THE DAILY).
