Wheels & Deals: Harvick Launches Social Networking Site

Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) has launched "Kevin Harvick Fan Central," an online community and social networking site for fans. Users can create a personalized page, post and contribute to forums and blogs, participate in online chats, share and comment on pictures and videos, create groups and add events. Fan Central members also can add more than 142 additional applications, including feeds from other Web sites and streaming music. The site launched on January 26 and more than 1,900 fans have already signed-up (KHI).
GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY: Lowe's Motor Speedway (LMS) on May 24 at the 50th running of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Coca-Cola 600 will attempt to set a Guinness World Record by giving 50,000 fans a total of $2.5M in giveaways. LMS staff will present the first 50,000 fans through the gates on race day with a commemorative adidas sport bag. The black bags will feature the 50th Coca-Cola 600 logo and contain prizes, merchandise and coupons from various track sponsors. In celebration of LMS' 50th anniversary, the retail value for each bag and its contents will be $50 (LMS).
NOTES: USfidelis will serve as primary sponsor of Rusty Wallace Racing's (RWR) No. 66 Chevrolet driven by Steve Wallace for 25 races in the '09 NASCAR Nationwide Series. Dannmar Equipment will serve as an associate sponsor of the car (THE DAILY)....ScottsMiracle-Gro will be the primary sponsor of Carter/Simo Racing's No. 08 entry driven by Boris Said for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Daytona 500 on Sunday (SCENEDAILY.com, 2/7)....Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches will serve as the primary sponsor of KHI's No. 33 Chevrolet for 10 NASCAR Nationwide Series races this season (SCENEDAILY.com, 2/9).
