Dynamo Airing 17 Games This Season On KHOU's Digital Channel
Published February 4, 2009
The MLS Dynamo "will go digital this season, announcing plans ... to air 17 regular-season games plus ancillary programming" on KHOU-CBS' digital channel, according to David Barron of the HOUSTON CHRONICLE. The Dynamo-KHOU alliance is "believed to be one of the first of its kind" in MLS and "one of the few in major league sports." The digital channel "will carry nine home and eight road games plus a monthly Dynamo magazine show and a weekly show called 'Dynamo All Access,'" which will be hosted by Dynamo announcer Glenn Davis. KHOU also "will devote five minutes on its Saturday morning newscast to the Dynamo." The agreement, "under which the Dynamo will sell advertising and produce the games while KHOU provides production and promotional assistance, is for one year with a mutual option for extensions." Meanwhile, eight Dynamo games airing on KHOU's digital outlet will be simulcast on FS Houston (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 2/4).
