NFL Franchise Notes: Parcells Remains Committed To Dolphins
Published February 2, 2009
Dolphins Exec VP/Football Operations Bill Parcells Friday said he will remain with the Dolphins "until I feel that the team is in position and (GM Jeff Ireland)] and (coach Tony Sparano) have had enough experience to where they can handle it." Parcells said he is "definitely" committed to the team through the '09 NFL season ("SportsCenter Special," ESPN, 1/30).
NOTES: The Titans Friday confirmed that they will raise ticket prices at LP Field for the third consecutive season and for the eighth time in 10 years. The increase of $2-3 per seat will make season tickets between $43-83 and will allow the Titans to maintain an average season-ticket price "among the lowest in the NFL." The Titans last season ranked 29th of 32 teams in average ticket price (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 1/31)....The Eagles Friday said that most tickets at Lincoln Financial Field will increase by $5 per game, with lower-level end-zone seats increasing $10. The team's most-expensive seat will jump from $90 to $95. The Eagles last season ranked 15th in average ticket price (PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS, 1/31)....In Detroit, Drew Sharp wrote if the Lions are "serious about changing their ways, they should start with burying" their logo. New logos and new uniform color schemes "strictly are cosmetic alterations, but if the Lions don't change the psychology first, it doesn't matter how many new coaches, executives and players they bring to town" (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 2/1).
