Bay Watch: Celebs, Athletes Conclude Super Bowl XLIII Festivities

Sunday night wrapped up a week of Super Bowl celebrity- and athlete-studded parties in Tampa. While the poor economy forced the cancellation of some parties, those that were held scored big-name attendees and even bigger reviews. THE DAILY takes one last look at this year's festivities.

WEEKEND WATCH: Eagles QB Donovan McNabb and Cowboys WR Terrell Owens were spotted in the same VIP room Thursday night at the Madden Bowl party and both "tried their hardest to ignore one another" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 2/1)....Rapper Snoop Dogg, former NFLers Deion Sanders and Mike Alstott, Cardinals RB Edgerrin James, Steelers LB James Farrior and Titans WR Chris Davis participated in the Snoop Bowl VII Saturday (ST. PETERSBURG TIMES, 2/1)....NBC "Today" co-host Meredith Vieira, Bravo's "Top Chef" host Tom Colicchio, Miss America Katie Stam, Pro Football HOFer Roger Staubach, Jaguars Owner Wayne Weaver and Rays Owner Stuart Sternberg attended Saturday's 18th Taste of the NFL at Tropicana Field (ST. THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY: Various NFLers' wives Friday afternoon modeled for the 8th annual "Off the Field: Celebrating the Beauty Within" charity event (TAMPABAY.com, 1/31)....Meanwhile, boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., Buccaneers WR Ike Hilliard and new coach Raheem Morris, Raiders RB Darren McFadden and Steelers LB LaMarr Woodley attended Buccaneers LB Cato June's Super Slam Celebrity Basketball Game on Friday (TAMPABAY.com, 1/30)....ESPN the Magazine's "Next" Super Bowl Party was held Friday night at the Patron Social Club, with rapper Lil Wayne serving as ESPN's red-carpet reporter. In attendance were actors Alyssa Milano, Lindsay Lohan, Kevin James and Chris Tucker, Jets CB Ty Law, Patriots QB Matt Cassel, Cowboys TE Jason Witten, McNabb, Giants RB Brandon Jacobs, Bengals WR Chad Johnson, Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams, Patriots LB Roosevelt Colvin, Saints WR Lance Moore and RB Pierre Thomas, CBS' Shannon Sharpe, McFadden, former NFLers John Lynch, Eddie George, and Jerry Rice, Tony Dorsett, former NBA Kings coach Reggie Theus, rapper MC Hammer, DJ Spinderella (ESPN.com, 1/31). Among the attendees were Bills DT Marcus Stroud, Bears WR Devin Hester, Redskins RB Clinton Portis, Broncos WR Brandon Marshall, the NFL Network's Marshall Faulk and former NBAer Charles Oakley. Bobcats Managing Member of Basketball Operations Michael Jordan was expected to attend (ESPN.com, 1/31). Also in attendance at the Maxim bash were Baseball HOFer Cal Ripken Jr., Heat President Pat Riley, NFL Network's Rich Eisen and ESPN's Jesse Palmer (TAMPABAY.com, 1/30)....The NFL's "Under The Lights" party was held Friday night at the Tampa Convention Center for a crowd of "more than 2,000." The event was described as a "sedate affair" (WSJ.com, 1/31)....Former 49ers Owner Eddie DeBartolo hosted a couple hundred friends Friday night for dinner at the Miggs' Palma Cela golf course brick mansion (TAMPABAY.com, 1/30)....Musician Jermaine Dupri and Buccaneers CB Aqib Talib hosted the "Under the Veil" party at MOSI (TAMPABAY.com, 1/30).

AFTERNOON DELIGHT: Pro Football HOFers Warren Moon, Franco Harris and Marv Levy, Cowboys coach Wade Phillips and Florida State Univ. S Myron Rolle were at agent Leigh Steinberg's party Saturday afternoon at Lowry Park Zoo (TAMPABAY.com, 1/31)....Sternberg, actor Christian Slater and NASCAR Driver Kasey Kahne were among the many celebrities and athletes who participated in Saturday afternoon's DirecTV Celebrity Beach Bowl at Al Lang Field (TAMPABAY.com, 1/31)....Also on Saturday, singers Sean Kingston and Wyclef Jean performed for hundreds of fans at ESPN's fan-oriented "Next" Day Tailgate party (TAMPABAY.com, 1/31)....Former Colts coach Tony Dungy and Buccaneers RB Warrick Dunn were honored at Saturday morning's Super Bowl Breakfast at the Univ. of South Florida's Sun Dome where about 7,000 people were in attendance (TAMPABAY.com, 1/31).
