Getting Chippy: Central Michigan, adidas Ink All-Program Deal
Published February 20, 2009
Central Michigan Univ. (CMU) has agreed to an exclusive apparel and shoe deal with adidas, set to take effect beginning with the '09-10 academic year. The agreement will outfit all CMU varsity programs in adidas apparel and footwear, as well as provide CMU with consistency in color, design and logo usage. The deal marks the first time all of CMU's athletics programs have been included in a single, all-encompassing apparel deal. As part of the agreement, each sport will receive equal treatment in the allocation of apparel and shoes (CMU). The CMU BOD Thursday approved the adidas deal "citing the football team's success for helping to 'contribute to the greater good' for the university" (Mt. Pleasant MORNING SUN, 2/20).
