Jazz President Rigby Says Ticket Prices Will Remain Flat For '09-10
Published February 19, 2009
Jazz President Randy Rigby yesterday said the team is holding most tickets "flat this coming year -- because we feel that we want to reach out and help our season-ticket holders," according to Tim Buckley of the DESERET NEWS. Rigby said that the franchise has "'seen a weakening of (sales of) individual game tickets' stemming from a tightening of discretionary spending by spectators." Though renewal forms "won't be distributed to season-ticket holders for another couple weeks," Rigby said that approximately 97.5% of ticket prices at EnergySolutions Arena for next season "will be the same as this season." Meanwhile, Rigby "suggested the franchise is offering more than usual to corporate sponsors." Rigby said that the team has put "planned sponsor-related building enhancements -- including the marketing of so-called 'bunker suites' -- on hold." Rigby noted that the team "won't be among the up-to-15 franchises expected to ask to borrow" funds from the NBA (DESERET NEWS, 2/19). Rigby said that the only prices being changed are for the "highest-end premium seats." In Salt Lake City, Ross Siler notes the Jazz have announced sellout crowds for 27 of 28 home games this season (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 2/19).
