FOURTH DOWN: Last weekend's four NFL Divisional playoff games all saw year-over-year declines in ratings and viewership from their respective windows in '08. The four telecasts averaged a combined 17.0 rating and 28.9 million viewers on Fox and CBS, down 15.8% and 12.1%, respectively, from a 20.2 rating and 32.8 million viewers last season. Chargers-Steelers on CBS in the late window on Sunday was the most-viewed game, earning 34 million viewers, which was off 15% from Fox' Giants-Cowboys telecast in the Sunday late window last year. The chart below shows ratings and viewers for each of the '09 NFL Divisional playoff matchups, with comparisons to '08 (THE DAILY).

FÚTBOL AMERICANO: NFL regular-season games were accounted for the top two and seven of the top 10 most-watched English-language programs this fall among Hispanic viewers. NFL games were also the highest-rated English-language show among Hispanic HHs in 14 of the season's 17 weeks. Games on CBS, Fox and NBC averaged 966,000 Hispanic viewers (NFL).
