Blackhawks Attendance Up Almost 50%; Blues, Red Wings See Gains

The NHL is averaging 17,306 fans per home game this season, up 1.5% from the same point a year ago, with the Western Conference up 3.5%. The Blackhawks lead all NHL teams in average attendance and percentage gains from the same point last year, with 22,604 fans per game at the United Center, up 49% from a year ago. Despite having the worst record in the conference at 16-23-3, the Blues are up 8.1% in average attendance. The Blue Jackets are the only Western Conference team filling their venue at under 80% capacity, while five teams in the conference are at 100% capacity or better.
