Re/Max Downshifting ARCA Sponsorship, Dropping Entitlement
Published January 15, 2009
The ARCA Series has “begun its search for a new title sponsor” after Re/Max yesterday announced it would end its current deal after the ’09 season, according to Steve Kaminski of the GRAND RAPIDS PRESS. Re/Max, which had been the circuit’s title sponsor since ’01, will “remain a presenting sponsor after this year.” Re/Max Int’l VP Randy Morse said, “The construction and housing industry has been hard hit by the current recession. … The decision to reduce our role from series title sponsor to presenting sponsor has been very, very difficult to say the least” (GRAND RAPIDS PRESS, 1/15). The AP noted the ARCA Series is a "second-tier league that, while not associated with NASCAR, often runs as a companion race to the Sprint Cup Series" (AP, 1/14).
STILL GOING IN EUROPE: Re/Max’ European subsidiary, Re/Max Europe, has signed a three-year deal with Toyota's F1 team, designating it the team’s official real estate services supplier. The Re/Max logo will appear on the uniforms of all Panasonic Toyota Racing drivers, pit crew helmets and other branding platforms (Toyota Motorsport).
