TLC Preparing To Launch New "NASCAR Wives" Reality Series
Published January 6, 2009
TLC is prepping a new reality show titled "NASCAR Wives" that will star "women with surnames familiar to racing fans," according to James Hibberd of the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. TLC "will air an hour of the series as a special Jan. 24 with a lead-in" from its coverage of the Miss America pageant. A full season, "including an undisclosed number of episodes, will follow in the spring." The concept of the show "mixes racing with the 'wives genre' peppering cable primetime," such as Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Orange County." Participants in the show include DeLana Harvick, wife of Kevin Harvick; Shana Mayfield, wife of Jeremy Mayfield; Kelley Earnhardt Elledge, sister of Dale Earnhardt Jr.; and Angie Skinner, wife of Mike Skinner. The series is produced by NASCAR Media Group (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 1/6).
