PHOENIX RISING: Monday night's Knicks-Suns game on FSN Arizona was the highest-rated Suns telecast of the season and also earned a higher rating than "MNF" in Phoenix. The Suns win in Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni's return to Phoenix earned a 6.8 HH rating, topping a 6.4 for the November 20 Lakers-Suns game. ESPN's Browns-Eagles "MNF" earned a 6.0 HH rating in the market. On Saturday night, the Red Wings-Coyotes game on FSN Arizona earned a 1.0 HH rating, the highest rating for a Coyotes game this season and the best rating for the team on the net since the '06-07 season opener (FSN Arizona).
NOTES: In Baltimore, Ray Frager noted ratings from Sunday's Steelers-Ravens game "weren't nearly as close as the game," as the telecast earned a 35.7 HH rating on WJZ-CBS in Baltimore and a 48.1 on KDKA-CBS in Pittsburgh (BALTIMORESUN.com, 12/17)....MSG earned its second-highest rating of the season Tuesday for Knicks-Lakers. The 1.82 HH rating (135,000 HHs) marked MSG's highest late-night rating for a game on the West Coast in two years. Knicks games are rating 11% higher this year over last (John Ourand, THE DAILY)....In Milwaukee, Bob Wolfley reported last Sunday's Packers-Jaguars game on WITI-Fox in Milwaukee earned a 29.0 HH rating and 262,551 HHs. The 29.0 rating marked the lowest rating for a Packers game this season in the market (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 12/17).
