Ravens Part Of Bid Group Vying For NCAA Men's Lacrosse Final Four
Published December 12, 2008
A Baltimore group that included Ravens reps, the Maryland Stadium Authority and the city Thursday "made an oral presentation to the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Committee," as part of the city's bid to land the NCAA men's lacrosse Final Four for 2010-2012, according to Bill Ordine of the Baltimore SUN. The Ravens "took the lead in pushing for the championship event" because the team is the main tenant at M&T Bank Stadium, where the three-day tournament would be held. Baltimore's bid is for "any or all of the three lacrosse championships" from 2010-2012. The other locations making pitches on Thursday were Denver, Boston and East Rutherford, New Jersey. The NCAA is "expected to announce its decision in January" (Baltimore SUN, 12/12).
