TaylorMade-adidas Extends Deal With Romero, Drops Snedeker
Published December 2, 2008
TaylorMade-adidas Golf has signed a multi-year extension of its equipment and clothing deal with golfer Andres Romero, according to a source. The 26-year-old Argentinian won on the PGA Tour for the first time this year and is currently ranked No. 30 in the official world golf rankings. Romero currently has a deal with Swiss-based Banque Baring Brothers Sturdza and an Argentina-based resort. Meanwhile, a separate source said that TaylorMade-adidas will not extend its club and clothing deal with Brandt Snedeker, who is expected to expand his existing ball/hat/glove deal with Bridgestone. Snedeker, who wears Bridgestone-branded hats, also recently signed a multi-year deal with MasterCard to wear that company's logo on the side of his hat. Snedeker, who finished tied for third in this year’s Masters and is ranked No. 58 in the world rankings, also has an endorsement deal with Wyndham Worldwide.
