Blog Hound: Burress Accidental Shooting Weekend's No. 1 Topic
Published December 1, 2008
Over the weekend, Giants WR Plaxico Burress accidentally shooting himself at a N.Y. nightclub and subsequently facing charges was the most popular topic among the top sports blogs. The weekend's college football rivalry games were highly discussed, as were Mississippi State football coach Sylvester Croom resigning from the post and former Raiders coach Lane Kiffin being offered the Tennessee job. The brewing BCS controversy also remained popular. Bloggers are debating whether Oklahoma deserved to be ranked ahead of Texas in the BCS standings, which allowed Oklahoma to receive the berth to the Big 12 Championship Game. The weekend's NFL games were also highly discussed, especially the Vikings' win over the Bears and the Giants' win over the Redskins. Rounding out the top five was discussion about TNT's Charles Barkley's negative comments regarding Cavaliers F LeBron James. Visit www.sportsmediachallenge.com for more info or see chart below.
