Bobcats Discounting Tickets Up To 50% To Drive Holiday Sales
Published November 25, 2008
The Bobcats are discounting some tickets to upcoming games by as much as 50% as the team looks to drive attendance during the holidays. Between Nov. 24 and Jan. 23, the team has cut tickets prices between 10-50% for all home games. Five games have discounts of up to 50%, including games against the Spurs and the Bulls. The Bobcats through 10 games at the 19,026-seat Time Warner Cable Arena this season are averaging 12,727 fans, up 0.4% through the same point last season. The Bobcats rank 28th in average attendance in the 30-team NBA. "We’re sensitive to the way this current economic downturn is affecting people, so we’ve decided to take a proactive approach to making our games more available to cost-conscious fans looking for great entertainment value," said Bobcats President & COO Fred Whitfield in a statement. "Through this ticket stimulus package, we’ve found a way to engage more cost-conscious fans with a discount offer, while still protecting the value of our season tickets and the benefits that season ticket holders enjoy."
