Ohio State Formally Puts Media, Marketing Rights Out For Bid
Published November 20, 2008
Ohio State Univ. put many of its media and marketing rights out for bid to third-party agencies yesterday in a formal Request for Proposal. The deal bundles TV coaches shows, corporate sponsorships and other rights, but will not include radio, which is tied up locally, and publishing, which is handled by IMG College. Ohio State is one of the few remaining schools that has kept its rights in-house, while many others have sought long-term guaranteed deals with outside agencies. The school retains the option of keeping those rights in-house at the end of this process, which is expected to continue through the end of January.
