Blog Hound: Shaq's Twitter Use Catches Bloggers' Eye
Published November 20, 2008
Over the past 24 hours, the most popular topic among the most influential sports blogs was Suns C Shaquille O'Neal now using Twitter, a social media site on which users can microblog or leave short messages. Also highly discussed was Ball State's win over Central Michigan Wednesday night, with many wondering if now 11-0 Ball State will be able to earn a bid to a BCS game over other highly-ranked non-BCS conference teams. Former Vikings and current Jaguars WR Troy Williamson sparked conversation following negative comments regarding his former coach, Vikings coach Brad Childress. Bloggers were amazed by a foul in the final seconds of Tuesday night's UAB-Arizona men's college basketball game, as the foul occurred with the score tied and allowed UAB to win on a free throw. Rounding out the top five was praise for the honesty of golfer J.P. Hayes, who told officials that he inadvertently used a non-conforming ball, disqualifying himself from the PGA Tour qualifying tournament.
