NFL Attendance Slightly Down; Falcons Off 10.1% At Georgia Dome
Published November 19, 2008
NFL teams are averaging 68,857 fans per game through Week 11, slightly off from the same period last year. Among NFC teams, the Falcons, who remain in contention for a playoff spot with a 6-4 record, are seeing the sharpest drop at the gate (-10.1%). Last weekend's home game against the Broncos drew only 54,644 fans to the Georgia Dome, despite the game being labeled a sell-out by team officials. The Lions (-6.8%) and Rams (-3.7%) round out the bottom of the NFC average attendance list. Meanwhile, despite a 2-8 record, Seahawks fans continue to pack Qwest Field, as the team is filling the venue to 101.5% capacity after five home games. The following presents NFC team-by-team attendance through Week 11, with comparisons to the same period last season. See Thursday's issue of The Daily for AFC attendance figures (THE DAILY).
