Deal Boosts Yankee Stadium's Connectivity The Yankees and Cisco have unveiled the details of their extensive technology partnership for the new Yankee Stadium, and the system seems sure to set an industry standard for ballpark connectivity. The $15M-plus deal calls for wireless access throughout the park, on-demand video replays and statistics in suites, as well as 1,100 flatscreen HDTVs that will deliver fans continuous updates on the game -- not to mention traffic and weather -- wherever they go. Cisco also will install its new HD video-conferencing system, allowing the Yankees to connect directly not only with execs in Tampa, but also with fans and business officials elsewhere. Hal Steinbrenner promises the stadium will be "state-of-the-art in every way," and Cisco's John Chambers goes so far as to say the system will "change all sports."
