Clock Is Ticking: Dynamo See Stadium Talks Ending At End Of Year
Published November 6, 2008
The MLS Dynamo do not "see current stadium negotiations with local governments dragging on past this year ... one way or the other," according to Bernardo Fallas of the HOUSTON CHRONICLE. The Dynamo and the city of Houston "are trying to get Harris County to participate in the building of a 22,000-seat venue" expected to cost around $105M. However, Dynamo GM Oliver Luck yesterday while speaking at the team's media day said that the club is "ready to look elsewhere if a deal for a downtown venue is not struck soon." Luck: "It almost has to (happen soon). If it doesn't happen by the end of the year, it's the old saying: A no is bad, a slow no is even worse. If there is no resolution by the end of the year, we'll have to go to plan B, whatever that is" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 11/6).
