Blog Hound: Rays Winning ALCS The Weekend's No. 1 Topic
Published October 20, 2008
Over the weekend the most popular topic was the Rays' ALCS Game Seven win over the Red Sox to advance to the World Series. Also highly discussed were various NFL topics, including rumors that former Green Bay QB Brett Favre advised the Lions before their game vs. the Packers, the Cowboys' loss to the Rams, and the Colts' loss to the Packers. Discussion of the weekend's college football games was also popular -- the Univ. of Texas' win over the Univ. of Missouri to hold onto their No. 1 ranking and the first BCS rankings were hot college football topics, as well as a video that popped up on many blogs from the South Carolina-LSU game in which a referee ran into South Carolina QB Stephen Garcia, with many bloggers speculating (some jokingly) that the referee appeared to hit Garcia on purpose. News that Yankees P Joba Chamberlain was arrested for DUI in Nebraska quickly circulated throughout the blog world to move into the Top 5. Rounding out the Top 5 was discussion surrounding ESPN analyst Lou Holtz' comments about Univ. of Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez in which he made an ill-advised comparison to Hitler.
