    Fox Sports Int'l Dir of Interactive Media EDWARD DERSE has left the company and joined GameFly Media, a subscription-based video game rental company. He will be GameFly's VP & GM (Tripp Mickle, SportsBusiness Journal)....The Cowboys named construction manager JACK HILL GM of the team's new $1.1B Arlington stadium, where he will run day-to-day operations. Previously, Hill was involved in managing construction of the Rangers Ballpark, American Airlines Center and Miller Park (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 10/11).

    FOOTBALL: The Indoor Football League (IFL) named TOMMY BENIZIO its first-ever Commissioner. For the past five years, Benizio was Owner & President of the IFL Odessa Roughnecks (Roughnecks)….The United Football League (UFL) appointed MATTHEW COULOUTE JR. VP/Football Administration & Legal Affairs and TOMAS LLIBRE VP/Information Technology. Previously, Couloute worked with the NFL and NFLPA. Llibre at the NFL spent nearly 10 years implementing solutions for the Football Operations, Officiating, Security and Management Council (UFL).

    Castroneves Will Continue To Race Despite
    Looming Trial For Federal Tax Evasion
    STUCK IN TRAFFIC: IRL driver HELIO CASTRONEVES said that he "doesn't expect his federal tax evasion case to go to court until after" the '09 IndyCar Series season, which will "allow him to focus on driving race cars." Castroneves this weekend will ride in the American Le Mans Series Monterey Sports Car Championships, and on October 26 will race in the IndyCar Series Nikon Indy 300. Castroneves said of the issue, "I'm trying to let the professionals handle it, but it's hard to leave it up to them. It's an issue no one wants to be in, and I'm disappointed this matter is going to have to be decided in court. But my conscience is clean. I know I didn't do anything intentionally wrong" (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 10/14).
