Stadium District Committee Approves Upgrades At Miller Park
Published October 8, 2008
The Miller Park Stadium District committee yesterday "gave conceptual approval" to a Brewers plan to build and install a new HD scoreboard and audio system in Miller Park by Opening Day 2010, according to Don Walker of the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL. The scoreboard, which has an estimated cost of between $9-12M, "will be paid for largely by the Brewers." The district has "tentatively agreed to commit $5.25[M] toward the project." Brewers and district officials said that the scoreboard "will be built in the same location as the current scoreboard but will be bigger and better." The sound system "will be improved as well." Walker notes the district committee "also gave conceptual approval to a number of other projects in the off-season, all of which will be fully paid for by the Brewers." The projects include the "creation of a third party suite in the right-field area," the renovation of meeting rooms on the Club and Terrace levels, renovations to Club-level suites and "construction of the Harley-Davidson Deck in the center-field area" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 10/8).
