Blog Hound: Bloggers Approve Of Millen's Departure From Lions
Published September 24, 2008
Over the past 24 hours, the departure of Lions President & CEO Matt Millen was the most popular topic among bloggers, with the majority praising the decision. Negative comments from Yankees co-Chair Hank Steinbrenner regarding MLB's revenue sharing system and the end of the Yankees' streak of 13 consecutive playoff appearances sparked the interest of bloggers as well. Bloggers condemned Chicago Mayor Richard Daley's request that bars around Wrigley Field cut off alcohol sales after the seventh inning of home games. A touchdown celebration by the CFL Blue Bombers in which several players pretended to play "duck duck goose" was also highly discussed among bloggers. Discussion about the Rams' woes rounded out the top five, with a focus on the benching of QB Marc Bulger and the future of head coach Scott Linehan.
