Overnight Nielsen Ratings From Weekend Sports Events

CBS kicked off its NFL coverage this past weekend, earning an 11.0/24 overnight Nielsen rating for its single-header coverage, which featured Jets-Dolphins in 63% of the country. The 11.0/24 was up 3.8% from similar early coverage in Week One last season. NBC also kicked off their coverage of Notre Dame football with a 2.7/6 overnight rating, up 12.5% from a 2.4 overnight for last year's Notre Dame opener against Georgia Tech. The following lists overnight Nielsen ratings from weekend sports events. Ratings for Fox were unavailable at presstime (THE DAILY).
