NEP Broadcasting To Provide CBS With Remote Broadcast Facilities
Published September 5, 2008
NEP Broadcasting purchased two HD trucks and contracts for several CBS Sports events from National Mobile Television to provide remote TV broadcast facilities. The CBS contracts include PGA Tour and The Masters golf tournaments, one Sunday afternoon NFL game and the NCAA men's basketball tournament. "There will be some consolidation in this space, and we're obviously an acquirer," said NEP CEO Lou Borrelli. "NEP will now support all scheduled tour and major championship golf broadcasts on network and cable television in the U.S. and adds more NFL football and NCAA Championship events to our industry leading position for live, prime-time sports broadcasts." A New York-based private equity firm, American Securities, owns a majority stake in NEP.
