CBS College Sports Becomes ACC Broadband Partner On Free Service
Published September 5, 2008
CBS College Sports announced that it will become the ACC's exclusive broadband streaming partner and will team with Raycom Sports to deliver ACC Select, the conference's broadband player for the broadcast of most Olympic sports and some football and men's basketball. CBS College Sports is replacing Turner Sports, which began ACC Select last year. ACC Select, a free and subscription online service, can be accessed through the conference's Web site, TheACC.com. It carries mostly soccer, volleyball, women's basketball, field hockey, softball, baseball and lacrosse -- sports whose games are not normally broadcast on TV. CBS College Sports will also have access to ACC championship events and can re-broadcast Raycom football and basketball games. CBS College Sports projects that more than 600 live games will be available on ACC Select in '08-09, including football games this weekend involving Furman-Virginia Tech, William & Mary-N.C. State and Northwestern-Duke. CBS College Sports and Raycom also have extended their agreement to maintain TheACC.com.
