Blog Hound: College Football's Opening Weekend The No. 1 Topic
Published September 3, 2008
Over the past 24 hours college football was the most popular topic, with discussion surrounding both UCLA's upset of Tennessee Monday night and Southern Cal jumping Georgia for the No. 1 ranking in the polls. Also popular were reports that newly-released Lions RB Tatum Bell stole newly-signed RB Rudi Johnson's luggage after Bell learned Johnson was signed to replace him. Bloggers were amused that the phone number for a conference call with Univ. of Central Florida football coach George O'Leary was released incorrectly, resulting in media members calling in for the conference call dialing a phone sex line. Jaguars OT Richard Collier remaining in critical condition from gunshot wounds was also a highly discussed topic. Rounding out the top five were congratulations for golfer Tiger Woods and his wife, Elin, following news that Elin is pregnant with the couple's second child.
