    Ford Sr. Finally Influenced
    To Part Ways With Millen

With Lions President & CEO Matt Millen yesterday (finally?) parting ways with the team, Bill Ford Jr. is poised to be the big winner from the front-office shakeup. Ford’s very public comments Monday about his desire to fire Millen given the opportunity are believed to be the final straw in convincing William Clay Ford Sr. to end his staunch defense of the embattled exec. The younger Ford is seen as a “hero in many eyes” for his role in the move, and it could signal the beginning of a change of command within the organization. The team will wait until the end of this season before seeking a full-time replacement, but one has to think Exec VP & COO Tom Lewand will receive a great deal of consideration -- yesterday’s shuffling of responsibilities now has Lewand reporting directly to Ford Sr.
