CBS Reportedly Talking To UFC About Filling EliteXC Slot
Published August 29, 2008
Rumors have "resurfaced that CBS is once again in talks with UFC" to take over the net's "EliteXC Saturday Night Fights" timeslot, according to Michael Pope of the N.Y. POST. The show "is struggling for ratings and fan enthusiasm," and the net is "flagging it only three months into the show's premiere." CBS' second EliteXC broadcast, called "Unfinished Business," aired July 26, and the net was reportedly "shocked by how badly the [fight] did in the ratings." CBS will air "at least one more 'Elite XC' match," an October 4 broadcast featuring MMA fighters Ken Shamrock and Kimbo Slice in the main event (N.Y. POST, 8/29).
