Blog Hound: Bloggers Pleased With Mariotti's Sun-Times Departure
Published August 27, 2008
Over the last 24 hours, Chicago Sun-Times columnist Jay Mariotti's resignation from the newspaper sparked the interest of bloggers, with most pleased by the news. MLB's use of instant replay beginning tomorrow was also a popular topic, with many bloggers excited to see it finally in use. News that former NFL Giants DE Michael Strahan chose to stay retired and work for Fox rather than return to the Giants was received well. Bloggers particularly liked that Strahan made a decision quickly. Rounding out the top five were the LPGA requiring its players to speak English or face possible suspension and the announcement that Kimbo Slice will face Ken Shamrock in the October 4 EliteXC event, which will be broadcast on CBS.
