CFL, Reebok Sign Five-Year Deal Estimated At More Than $1M Per
Published August 27, 2008
The CFL has agreed to a five-year extension of its deal with Reebok, the league's exclusive supplier of uniforms and sideline apparel. The partnership includes an expanded presence for CFL Reebok merchandise in retail stores and increased royalty revenue for the CFL. The deal was announced on the same day that the CFL launched its Retro Week Initiative, a series of games featuring classic uniforms (CFL). The NATIONAL POST's Sean Fitz-Gerald reports, "It is believed the CFL will collect more than $1[M] annually under terms of the new deal, which includes equipment such as shoes and gloves." Cohon said of the deal, "I think it's a real sign that the league is doing well. And companies that want to do business with us are saying there's a real value" (NATIONAL POST, 8/27).
