No Kidd-ing Around: Mavericks G To Endorse China-Based Peak
Published August 26, 2008
China-based footwear and sports apparel company Peak and Mavericks G Jason Kidd have announced that Kidd will sign a formal contract to endorse the company in October. Kidd will aid Peak in its Olympics-related advertising efforts in the interim (Peak). Kidd previously endorsed Nike. SPORTINGNEWS.com's Chris Littmann writes the "timing on Kidd's departure [from Nike] is interesting, because the market in the U.S. has been flooded recently with many of his old retro classics." Kidd "spent a brief time sporting Jordans in his career" (SPORTINGNEWS.com, 8/26). Peak also has sponsorship agreements with Rockets F Shane Battier, the NBA and the WNBA (THE DAILY).
