  • Big Ten, Time Warner Agree To Carriage Deal

    With the college football season just days away, the Big Ten Network and Time Warner Cable surprise the TV industry by announcing they have reached an agreement on a carriage deal that will see the net on the air within the Big Ten footprint in time for Saturday’s slate of games. The deal includes the BTN’s HD and VOD channels. While no further details have been announced, a source said the deal likely will be similar to the one with Comcast, which will allow TWC to move BTN to a digital service next spring. Meanwhile, ESPN and the SEC yesterday formally announce their momentous $2.25B deal, which squarely ends any talk of an SEC Network in the near future.
