Olympic Blog Hound: Usain Bolts To The No.1 Topic
Published August 21, 2008
Over the past 24 hours, Jamaica sprinter Usain Bolt's world record-setting win yesterday in the men's 200m final was the most popular Olympic topic, with bloggers saying that Bolt's feat of winning both the 100m and 200m should be considered on par with the accomplishments of U.S. swimmer Michael Phelps. Phelps remained a popular topic, with conversation both about his endorsements and income potential as well as fellow U.S. swimmer Amanda Beard's somewhat negative reaction to rumors that she and Phelps were involved. NBC's coverage also remained a popular topic, as bloggers are frustrated with the time-delayed coverage of the men's 200m final yesterday. Rounding out the top five were discussion of men's basketball quarterfinal games and the extreme conditions performers in the Opening Ceremony endured.
